Everything You Need to Know Before Your West Palm Beach Scuba Diving or Charter Trip
Planning your next underwater training session or private offshore charter out of Lake Park Marina? Below you will find detailed answers to our most common questions regarding course pricing, departure logistics, what gear to bring, and what to expect on the boat. We want to make the preparation process as smooth as possible so you can focus entirely on enjoying your time out on the Atlantic.
Prices vary depending on whether you are booking a private charter, a specific training class, or an underwater harvesting trip. Full PADI or SDI open water certification courses are bundled to include your digital learning materials, pool sessions, and open-water checkout dives. Private six-passenger boat charters are flat-rated for the entire vessel. For exact, up-to-date pricing on all courses and charters, please visit our online booking calendar.
For certification courses, essential training gear can be bundled directly into your package. For standard daily dive charters, high-end rental equipment—including tanks, weights, BCDs, and regulators—is available for a separate fee through our retail system. You are always welcome to bring your own personal gear, which our instructors will help inspect and configure before we head out.
All of our trips depart directly from Lake Park Marina, located just minutes from the Palm Beach Inlet and Riviera Beach. The marina features excellent amenities, clean facilities, and secure parking close to the slips. We will send a confirmation email with the exact slip number and GPS directions immediately after you complete your booking.
We ask all passengers, students, and divers to arrive at the marina at least 30 minutes before our scheduled departure time. This gives our crew plenty of time to check your certifications or paperwork, load and secure your gear, and complete our mandatory pre-trip vessel safety briefing without rushing.
Safety is our absolute priority. If Captain Todd Bailey determines that the sea conditions, ocean currents, or weather patterns in the Palm Beach Inlet are unsafe for diving or fishing, we will cancel the trip. In the event of a weather cancellation, you will have the option to reschedule for the next available date or receive a full refund.
Yes, our private charters are fully customizable and excellent for families. Because our custom vessel is limited to a maximum of six passengers, your group has the entire deck to yourselves. We can tailor the day to accommodate a mix of sightseeing, introductory scuba lessons, or relaxed reef fishing, ensuring everyone on board stays comfortable and safe.
You should bring personal sun protection (reef-safe sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat), dry towels, a windbreaker or light jacket, and any personal snacks or drinks you prefer (we provide a cooler with ice and water). If you are diving, remember to bring your physical or digital C-card, your logbook, and your personal dive gear if you aren't renting from our facility.
We require a 48-hour notice for any client-initiated cancellations or rescheduling requests to receive a full refund. Because we strictly limit our boat to a maximum of six passengers, a last-minute cancellation makes it difficult to fill those highly limited seats. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure will forfeit the deposit.
Booking is fast and straightforward. Head over to our online scheduling page to view real-time calendar availability for all certification courses, specialized hunting runs, and offshore fishing charters. Select your preferred date, fill out your group's details, and complete your secure deposit to lock in your boat run.
